The Animation Guys is an animation and video production studio based in Islington, London. Founded in 2015 by Director Jamien Middleton, TAG has made it their mission to create content that connects businesses with their audiences in a thoughtful and effective way.
A small team of talented animators and motion graphics designers has produced work for companies such as Royal London, Chargifi and Wellers as well as artists such as Jason Derulo.
March first met The Animation Guys whilst working jointly on a project for a private client in Summer 2017 and again later that year for medial start-up Stem Cell Fairy.
March was commissioned by TAG to redesign and build their corporate website. Jamien wanted to partner with a creative brand agency in order to inject some life into the TAG brand - now 3 years old - and elevate perception with a website redesign.
Inbound marketing activity was being hampered by the existing website and there was a requirement for allowing different types of content to be created and managed efficiently. Equally the new site needed to present visitors with a simple navigational structure and allow them to find information on services and video types easily.
The authority of the company and it’s output also needed to be presented more obviously so client testimonials and detailed project case studies were also included in the website.
We created a rich and engaging website for The Animation Guys. The site was built upon the WordPress Content Management System as the team at TAG were already familiar with this platform. This allowed us the flexibility to migrate a large chunk of content from the old site and allow the adoption of a flexible layout manager to create custom layouts for each of the core page templates.
Following our typical processes we first presented a prototype of the website using interactive wireframes to ensure page templates contained the content required for each section.
On approval the pages were then designed in full based on the wireframes, using their brand colours and assets. A skilled copywriter, Jacob Denno, was hired to produce copy for the main service pages
Integrations with TAG’s CRM platform formed a critical part of the rebuild and was intrinsic to the ongoing marketing activity planned for the future. The site was linked to TAG’s email marketing solution so that newsletter subscriptions were automatically verified and stored in the right marketing lists.
The new website has shown some promising results since its launch in March 2018. In the month following there has been an uplift in all main website visitor metrics:
- 110% more users.
- 116% increase in new users.
- 131% increase in sessions.
- 128% increase in pageviews.
- Over 6% reduction in bounce rate.
Organic search results have improved by 79% year on year and 64% compared to the month preceding launch.
The Animation Guys have also launched their first banner advertising campaign utilising two new landing pages built into the new Content Management System, and expect to see positive results from this in due course.
The new website re-invigorates The Animation Guys brand delivering a fresh and contemporary platform to showcase the great work the team produces, whilst enabling greater online marketing activity for promotions and business growth.
March are great communicators. From their work to the way they guide you through their process.
