Beata Heuman is one of the world’s most successful and celebrated interior designers.
Having honed her craft under the tutelage of the esteemed Nicky Haslam, Beata established her interior design business in 2013. Since then, her reputation within the industry has soared.
Beata’s “playful and original” work has featured in various publications, including AD100, The Sunday Times, and Vogue. In 2018, Beata won House & Garden’s inaugural Interior Designer of the Year award and has been a mainstay of its top 100 interior design firms ever since.
The
Challenge
Since 2016, March has supported Beata Heuman’s ever-expanding interior design practice with its digital expertise.
The initial commission was to design Beata’s portfolio website to showcase her impressive interiors and press coverage.
March developed the site on Umbraco with a bespoke design, subsequently adapting it to include a product range where customers could register their interest in Beata’s collection of exclusive furniture and homewares. This addition proved an immediate success.
By 2020, Beata’s catalogue of products had grown so large that she required a new, bespoke e-commerce solution.

The Solution
In response to Beata’s rapidly growing product sales, March recommended a full e-commerce solution built on Shopify and hosted on a subdomain.
This approach enabled the original interiors site to remain intact, while establishing a dedicated new e-commerce sub-brand named “Shoppa” (Swedish for shop).
An early wireframe of what would eventually become Shoppa.
March iterated upon a series of website mockups before translating them into working designs that could be implemented as a custom theme on Shopify.
A Request a Quote facility was also configured for Beata’s bespoke furniture range, which allowed customers to register their interest.
Shoppa was integrated into a third-party logistics warehouse, enabling Beata to expand her brand’s reach to international markets while simultaneously streamlining operations to save both time and cost.
The Results
Beata and her team were thrilled with both the aesthetics and the functionality of the new Shoppa website.
The new Shopify website presents Beata’s distinctive products to their best advantage, with each page reflecting her signature, off-beat style.
Beata Heuman continues to deliver exceptional interior and product design. The evolution of her brand’s online presence into a full e-commerce platform has yielded strong growth and increased revenue, a journey March is proud to have been a part of.
Over a period of six months Beata experienced a 64.5% uplift in visitors to the Shoppa website with a reduction in bounce rate. There was a 14% increase in e-commerce conversions.
There was also an increase in pageviews of 113% on the new Shoppa site compared with the products section on the old site over a five-month period pre- and post-launch, which was accompanied by a corresponding increase in revenue.
