March has enjoyed a strong working relationship with Intelligent People (IP) over several years. From humble beginnings with graphic design, SEO and email marketing projects, we were later commissioned to re-brand the business and develop their point of sale materials.
When Intelligent People wanted someone to lead their new recruitment website design, they came straight to us.
There is always an element of conflict when building websites for the recruitment industry. That’s because your site has to appeal to two separate groups:
Both these groups have different needs and expectations; they will respond to different things. You have to always bear this in mind when building a recruitment site. For example, to help candidates, Intelligent People wanted the site to have a smart job search function.
As well as looking great and appealing to everyone, IP needed the new site to work seamlessly with their existing third-party integrations. They use a platform called Broadbean, which publishes Intelligent People’s jobs to several other recruitment websites, including Monster and Reed.
IP wanted the integrations to also push jobs to their own site, as well as Broadbean. This would mean they would only have to write one job description and it would automatically syndicate to all the other locations. It would save a great deal of admin time.
We began the process by taking time to understand all the criteria for the site. We reviewed what currently existed; what parts of the site were working and what were not.
We developed the site in WordPress, making sure the code was lean and images were compressed to ensure speedy loading times and strong organic SEO results. The site would also be fully mobile responsive.
Working alongside a content agency, WordUp, we used the findings in our review to guide them on their content strategy. They would refine all the copy across the site, ensuring consistency and professionalism.
To especially appeal to prospective candidates, we built the smart job search function. Jobs would appear as cards on the site, with a smart filter that job hunters could use to easily find jobs by Discipline or Sector.
We also build a custom job alert feature, so candidates could search for a specific job type, then receive daily email news alerts relating to their search.
The newly designed Intelligent People recruitment website was launched on time and the client was delighted with the result. The new site was also nominated for and won several design awards.
March continues to support Intelligent People’s online and offline branding and products.
March took the time to understand what we wanted and made sure it happened. They gave lots of advice along the way. We love the redesign which made our site more current and the new search functionality and subscription features are exactly what we wanted. Thanks for a great job.Chris Mason
