Debbi shoots fashion and celebrity portraiture all over the world. She learned from the best; Central St Martins, the London College of Printing and a spell as assistant to the great Iain McKell.
To attract new business in the ultra-exclusive fashion industry, Debbi decided her personal brand needed a redesign. She came to talk to March.
Debbi challenged us to come up with a new brand that projected elegance and the highest level of professionalism. As well as a new visual identity, Debbi also needed new printed materials and a new website to showcase her breathtaking portfolio of work.
We spoke at length with Debbi about what she wanted to achieve with her rebrand. It was essential that her brand aligned with that of her customers, high-end lifestyle and luxury magazines.
Our first task was to create a new visual identity for Debbi. We put together a series of messaging and visual concepts, so Debbi could see how it would all fit together.
For the logotype, we chose a clean, sophisticated, sans serif font that totally reflected the essence of her brand. It would look terrific on Debbi’s new business cards, where we used a thick, uncoated paper stock. Only the best quality would do.
Next, we focused on creating a new website for Debbi; one that would present her unique talents to the world. It was all about conveying an elegant look with lots of white space. We also created a full-screen lightbox for her portfolio. It would present Debbi’s outstanding images effectively, in an uncluttered environment.
We coded the lightbox in a way that would make it respond to touch gestures on smartphones and tablets. The whole site was designed to be fully responsive to mobile devices, automatically scaling down if necessary.
Debbi was thrilled with what we came up with. It revolutionised the way Debbi could present her work to the world.
Debbi launched her new website in conjunction with an exhibition of her photography at The Strand Gallery.
Since the relaunch of her personal brand and website, Debbi has continued to build her profile in the competitive world of fashion photography. She particularly enjoys using the website to publish new work and to make her followers aware of forthcoming shows and exhibitions.
